Richard joined the firm in 1984, the year he received his Chartered Accountant designation. He became partner in 1985. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and articled with a national CA firm in Vancouver prior to moving to the island. Richard lives in Sidney (by the marina) with Deborah, his wife of over 25 years, and their three teenage children, Devan, Hailey and Tiana.
Richard’s passion is providing business advice to anyone who will listen. He is also the Director of Fun in the office. When he is not organizing the weekly office barbeques, he can be found heading up the committee for the Sidney Days parade float, planning the annual mini-golf tournament, the May 1 BBQ, or games for the annual Christmas party.
Volunteer activities include Treasurer of the New Marine Centre in Sidney, assisting the Saanich Peninsula Power Squadron, and an active leader with the Saanich 4H Lamb Club.

“Why was I always the banker when I played Monopoly as a child?” The answer is now crystal clear.... a genuine excitement for accounting and real estate.
Richard grew up in Vancouver near the ocean. He and his family spent much time on the water. Now, when he is not out enjoying cruising with his family, Richard is dreaming and planning the next boat trip.
